Not only are they delicious, but we are also proud to have a highly qualified, experienced chef creating our fantastic baked produce.
Meet the Baker, Imelda Hudson
It was meant to be…
Imelda, if we do say so ourselves, creates some of the finest baking products within Coventry. Serving up fresh sourdough bread, cakes and cookies, her journey into Baxter Baristas began in 2024. After moving to Coventry with her family and sending out countless CVs for work, she and her husband happened to pop into Baxter Baristas for a coffee and cake one afternoon.
Her husband heard on the grapevine, that we, the coffee shop and Coventry Caterer were looking for a new chef. Imelda emailed Steven Prime, the owner of Baxter Baristas. The rest is history and Imelda was quickly snapped up and has been with us ever since! Now irreplaceable to the team, Imelda has trained and worked in some of the finest cooking schools across the globe, bringing a wealth of baking knowledge and experience in through the doors of Baxter Baristas each day!
The Formula to Baking High Quality Goods
Imelda tells us her secret formula to baking. From the raw ingredients being sourced, right through to the beautiful display of treats at Baxter Baristas and the doors of our catering clients, she has three key formulas.
Patience – Precision – and a decent Oven!
“For me baking bread is patience. A calm process. You must use fresh, quality ingredients. Plus, baking at such a standard, you really must focus and concentrate properly. Timing is crucial. The temperature of your oven must be precise, especially with the brownies. I put it in the oven and keep it in the oven. No opening the oven constantly, once you do that will collapse the brownie!”
